Cinepolis Power One Mall Vijayawada Review

I’ve only been to Cinepolis at Power One Mall once, and unfortunately, it was a pretty terrible experience. The screens are decent size – not huge, but okay for watching a movie. Parking isn’t an issue since there’s plenty of space available in the mall itself.

The major problem I encountered was with security and crowd management. They allowed three drunk people into the theatre, and about 20 minutes into the movie, a big quarrel broke out. These guys were being loud and disruptive – one was even talking loudly on his phone during the movie. When someone in the audience asked them to keep it down, they turned aggressive and confrontational.

What made it worse was the complete lack of security. There were no security guards present, and not even a male staff member around. The female staff outside had to call for help, and it took nearly 10 minutes for one male staff member from Cinepolis to show up. By then, the situation had escalated, and other moviegoers had to physically drag these drunk guys out of the theatre. The quarrel continued outside in the Cinepolis common area for another 15-20 minutes until the police finally arrived and took them away.

If it wasn’t for other people in the theatre stepping in to handle the situation, it could have gotten really bad. It’s concerning that there was no proper security protocol in place for situations like this. To their credit, Cinepolis did replace my ticket free of cost and gave me a ticket for the next show, which was a decent gesture given the circumstances.

The common area inside the multiplex is also not that spacious. I imagine it could get quite crowded, especially on opening days of big releases when there are more people around.

Based on this one experience, I’d be hesitant to go back, at least not without knowing they’ve improved their security measures. While the technical aspects like screen size and parking are fine, the safety and crowd management issues are pretty significant concerns.
