Tiger Kingdom is a place where you can see and take photos with tigers of different sizes and ages. They have everything from small tigers less than one year old to big ones that are more than five years old. They have different breeds of tigers including White tigers, Tabby tigers, and Bengal tigers.
This isn’t really a hangout spot – there’s not much to do other than seeing and taking photos with the tigers. You pay based on which tigers you want to interact with, and there are different price packages available. Prices start from around 500 baht and can go beyond 5000 baht depending on what you choose. They also offer a professional photography service where a photographer will take pictures of you with the tigers, or you can just hand your phone to one of the trainers when you enter the cage and they’ll help take photos.
Going inside the cages felt completely safe. There were always three trainers around me – one taking photos and two others nearby with sticks for safety. They guide you on how to pose and how to interact with each tiger. It’s different for each one – with some you can lean against them, with others you can hold their tail, and some will stand up for photos. The trainers tell you exactly what to do with each tiger.
The location is a bit far from the city center, but it’s worth the trip if you really want to take photos with tigers. There’s also a small souvenir shop at the front if you want to buy gifts or takeaway items.
Getting there and back can be a bit tricky if you’re using Grab. I had issues with drivers accepting rides and then texting to ask for more money. If you don’t cancel within a minute, Grab charges you 30 baht anyway, and there doesn’t seem to be a good way to complain about this. I had to try booking 2-3 times before finding a driver who would go for the agreed price. I recommend using ‘Just Grab’ or ‘Grab Taxi’ services in Grab app for fares above 200 baht – anything below that might not get you a driver.
Overall, if taking photos with tigers is something you’re interested in, Tiger Kingdom delivers exactly that experience. Just be prepared for the travel time to get there and potentially some hassle with ride booking.
